The Hochschule für katholische Kirchenmusik und Musikpädagogik Regensburg relies on DYNACORD

Straubing / Regensburg, December 2008 Since its foundation in 1874 as the world’s first Catholic academy of church music, the HfKM in Regensburg has attained great international prestige. The historic building was recently renovated as part of a two-year programme of rebuilding and expansion, with particular importance attached to the quality of the audio equipment in the academy’s various concert and lecture halls. TRE Professionelle Audiotechnik, based in Parkstetten in Lower Bavaria, was entrusted with the audio installation. Robert Ernst, head of TRE explains:

“The managers of the HfKM wanted very high audio quality and reliable partners—terms in which they included not only the installation firm but also the manufacturer.”

To satisfy the academy’s requirements, Ernst opted for systems from DYNACORD. The concert hall, which seats more than 150 people, now boasts four DYNACORD VariLine VL262 two-way, full-range cabinets in the stalls and two more VL262 cabinets in the gallery. The speakers provide complete, seamless audio coverage throughout the hall.

“The VariLine is ideally suited to this type of application,” explains Ernst. “The cabinets offer outstanding performance despite their relatively compact dimensions.” For this reason, TRE also installed the system, which has proved its worth in a very wide variety of sound reinforcement installations all over the world, in the HfKM Choir Rehearsal Room as well as in the lecture theatres (VL262 and VL62). The speakers are driven by DYNACORD LX 1600 amplifiers and controlled by a DYNACORD P64 digital audio matrix. The entire system brings the installation at the prestigious music academy into line with the highest modern standards.
“The academy’s house technician and managing director are highly impressed by the new audio equipment,” says Ernst. “It’s tidily integrated, delivers outstanding sound quality and is easy to use. I’ve even heard that the quality of the installation has far exceeded their expectations. We couldn’t have asked for more.”
