Palpable Optimism
Straubing, May 2009 The newly designed booth of Communications Systems from Bosch (Hall 4.1/E70) once again proved to be a real magnet for both dealers and consumers at this year’s ProLight+Sound (April 1-4). In addition to the throng of visitors, the many positive conversations with customers made for a more than satisfactory balance. “We wanted to send a signal at this trade fair and demonstrate that we haven’t been infected with the crisis-panic,” says Vice President Sales Robert Hesse. “We succeeded. Our efficient and optimistic presentation went down a treat.”
In addition to the many and varied new products from DYNACORD, Electro-Voice, Midas, and Klark Teknik, workshops, presentations (ProMatrix), and live demos (including Electro-Voice PL series microphones) contributed to the bustle of activity at the booth. “Everyone who listens to our equipment is convinced by it,” says Robert Pletz, Head of Marketing Communications Systems EMEA. “That’s why the demonstrations were of decisive importance to us.” The largest, most important – and also most spectacular – demo took place in the Agora marquee.
No less a figure than ex-Toto guitarist and musical legend Steve Lukather and his band provided the musical highlights of the entire trade show – ably assisted by a VariLine sound reinforcement system from DYNACORD. Lukather was impressed – and also taken with the new CXM 15 monitor system from DYNACORD. “As any musician will tell you, with a good monitor system you’re already half way to a good show. And these CXM 15 monitors simply sound fantastic!” was Steve’s verdict.
The programme on Stage 2 provided the perfect contrast. There members of the young “Dream Theater” cover band “Awake” were demonstrating not only their musical prowess but also the acoustic properties of the Electro-Voice EVH system, a system designed for fixed installation but thoroughly suitable – as was proved here – for rock.
