Dynacord presents the U Series, a new line of ultra-compact single-channel mixer amplifiers and power amplifiers for commercial spaces

Dynacord has introduced the U Series, a budget-friendly lineup of ultra-compact, single-channel mixer amplifiers and power amplifiers for commercial installations. It follows the multi-channel V Series and targets installers and consultants specifying background music and paging in applications that do not require life safety compliance, complex networking, or higher SPL levels — positioning the range as an entry point alongside Dynacord's other commercial amplifier lines, which remain suited to mid-sized and large projects.

The series consists of six models: four mixer amplifiers at 30, 60, 120, and 240 watts, and two power amplifiers at 120 and 240 watts. All use Class-D amplification in a single-channel design for single-zone, high-impedance installations in smaller commercial spaces such as cafes, shops, and offices.

U Series mixer amplifiers provide front access for main gain, channel levels, and tone adjustments. Two mic/line and two aux inputs connect external devices such as microphones, a paging station, or music players. The models drive high-Z or low-Z speaker lines and add phantom power for the microphone inputs and a switchable high-pass filter at 120 Hz. An emergency override input allows integration with a PA/VA system, a chime supports paging-station use, and VOX ducking is included. Configuration is handled by DIP switches on the rear of the unit, and a contact closure port provides remote power on/off.

On the two power amplifier models, all controls are located at the back to prevent unintended or unauthorized changes, following a set-and-forget usability principle. The U Series can be deployed standalone or integrated into existing installations, and the power amplifier models can serve as auxiliary amps in larger system designs — for instance, when newly created zones require amplification. Paired with EVID commercial speakers from Dynacord's sibling brand Electro-Voice, the range supports cost-effective, high-quality audio installations.

Each unit measures a single rack unit high and half a rack width wide, allowing rack-mount, table-top, or under-table installation. The included brackets support single or dual rack-mount configurations as well as discreet placement, such as under counters. Two amplifiers fit in a single rack unit when mounted side by side, doubling the channel count and output power in the same space.

All Dynacord electronics undergo testing at the company's Reliability Test Center (RTC) in Straubing, Germany, where units face extreme thermal conditions, physical stress tests, and long-term heavy use driving speakers at maximum loads. The U Series carries a protection package that includes overload and short-circuit protection and a limiter to prevent accidental overdriving.

The Dynacord U Series will be available in fall 2024.
